English: Also known as Plain wren-warbler, White-browed wren-warbler; Hindi: Phutki;
IUCN Status:  Least Concern
Main features: About 15 centimetres. Grey-brown to warmer brown back feathers in winters; short white supercilium; whitish-buff underparts; rufous fringes; Short rounded wings; long tail in non-breeding plumage; short black bill, strong legs.
This bird is in non-breeding plumage with longish tail and paler lower mandible in a beak which is usually dark.
Found usually in Indian subcontinent. Wetlands, scrublands, grasslands, open woodland and gardens are common habitats.
Generally utters tlee tlee tlee repetitively.
Nest is formed from leaves stitched together in shrubs or tall grass.
Insectivorous.
